AUDITION NOTICE – 
Dukesbay Productions announces auditions for a multi-racial production of THE
FANTASTICKS by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. This production will be directed by
Chris Nardine, and musically directed by Deborah Armstrong.

Auditions will be held Sunday June 8 (starting at 4pm) and Monday June 9 (starting at
7 pm) at the Dukesbay Theater, located at 508 Sixth Ave. #10 in Tacoma, WA 98402.

Auditioners are asked to prepare:
* A comedic monologue, no longer than one minute. If you do not have a monologue, sides from the script will be made available at the audition. 16-32 bars from a classic/formal Broadway show or opera. (No modern songs, please.) An accompanist will be present if you have sheet music. Otherwise, an accompaniment track can be used. Speakers and connectors will be available to hook phones into the system.

Callbacks will be held on Wednesday June 11, by invitation only.

THE FANTASTICKS is the longest running musical in the world, it feature the beloved song Try to Remember. It is a romantic tale concerning two neighboring fathers who trick their children into falling in love by pretending to feud.
Dukesbay Productions’ mission is to showcase the works of artists of all ethnicities. Actors from all racial and ethnic backgrounds are sought to audition for this multi-racial production.
The Dukesbay Theater, unfortunately, is only accessible by a long staircase. No elevator access is available.

    (Most roles are open and can be played by anyone of any ethnicity)
    The Girl (Luisa): (Age 16-25) the young lover, vocal range B3-B5
    The Boy (Matt): (Age 16-25) the young lover, vocal range A2-G4
    The Actor (Henry): (Age 55-80) A clown, entertainer, vocal range C3-Eb4
    The Girl’s Father (Bellomy): (Age 45-60) vocal range A2-F#4
    The Boy’s Father (Hucklebee): (Age 45-60) vocal range A2-F#4
    The Man Who Dies (Mortimer): (Age 35-60) a clown, entertainer, vocal range C3-Eb4
    The Mute: (Age open) male or female, no singing involved
    The role of El Gallo is cast.
    All actors will receive a stipend of $500

Dukesbay Productions was founded in 2011 by Tacoma theatre artists Randy Clark and Aya Hashiguchi Clark. Dukesbay Productions’ mission is to showcase the works local writers and give a voice to theatre artists of all ethnicities.
